Parrish Construction Group (Parrish) is a mid-sized, full-service contractor based in Perry, Ga. Dave Cyr, president and founder of Parrish, began the company in 1995 as Parrish Georgia before rebranding in 2000. Parrish specializes in academic, commercial and industrial projects for both public and private sectors. The company has built a reputation of quality and commitment through expertise and strong project leadership.
Parrish employs professionals with experience and a market-leading skill set in facility planning, preconstruction, construction management at-risk, general contracting and design-build services. The vision of Parrish is to provide outstanding construction services of the highest integrity to each of its clients; to provide safe work places and rewarding career opportunities for all its employees; to be good neighbors and corporate citizens in the communities where it does business; and to honor and glorify God through faithful stewardship of the team’s time, talents and resources.
Cyr holds a degree from the University of Florida as well as an impressive master skill set in planning, preconstruction and construction. His technical knowledge coupled with a common sense approach to construction makes Cyr stand out as a leader. His reputation for keeping programs and projects on track for the past 20 years has solidified his experience as a contractor. Aside from being a skilled builder, Cyr upholds a commitment to family and faith as he is a Lay Leader at Perry Methodist Church. Cyr leads Parrish by example in contributing to community through local civic, charitable and economic development organizations.
Leading with Passion
Cyr isn’t the company’s only saint, and client testimonials speak bounds for Parrish. The company’s projects range from church multipurpose buildings, middle schools and university libraries to medical office buildings, industrial chiller replacements and complete mechanical renovations. With every project completed comes a flood of appreciation.
Dave McMahan, former director of facilities for Houston County Schools says, “Parrish has always finished ahead of schedule. They are very aggressive on the schedule, on time with good subs. They know what we expect and they build what we want.”
“I would have to say that the ethics and integrity represented by all members of Parrish Construction Group are in a league of their own,” says Jason Daniel, Houston County’s current director of facilities. “It was a pleasure working on this project and I look forward to working with Parrish for years to come.”
Completed after only seven months, Parrish overhauled then-empty Burke Elementary School to accommodate the new location of Elam Alexander Academy at Burke. Elam Alexander is a school for children with special needs in grades kindergarten through 12. The school existed previously in cramped quarters across town for 38 years.
Parrish spent long hours collaborating with building officials and authorities, client-representatives and integrating end-user involvement. The old building was completely renovated and updated with a modern kitchen and a cafeteria with a stage that students use for performances. Other amenities include a computer lab, a multipurpose room for physical education and a kiln for ceramics projects. Living centers, designed to provide students with a setting to learn how to function independently, were another major upgrade as well as an incredible educational tool designed and implemented through Parrish’s collaborative efforts. The school was finished under budget and in time for classes to start up in fall 2011.
Other projects include the complete start-to-finish construction of Veteran’s High School in Houston County, a massive two-story building designed to encompass technology and structure ahead of the curve. Interesting statistics of the project include 4 million pounds of steel, over 500,000 man-hours worked on the project and 91 places to sharpen a pencil. The facility covers 300,000 square feet and includes an enormous gymnasium, a cutting-edge auditorium, four sports fields and a running track in addition to labs for a variety of disciplines. Like Elam Alexander, the project was finished ahead of time and within the established budget.
Giving to Give
Aside from quality, efficient construction, Cyr and his team contribute to the local and national organizations and efforts to service communities. Charitable giving is an integral part of the Parrish organization, and the company’s financial contributions make a difference in the lives of others.
The corporation has and continues to contribute to the Methodist Children’s home, the Children’s Hospital, the American Cancer Society, the National Child Safety Council and Hospice of Houston County. Parrish is proud to offer a Christian working environment and encourages its employees to donate personal time with community organizations, including the local Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club and YMCA.
The Parrish family is a passionate and savvy team of construction professionals dedicated to delivering successful results to each client. The company has built a reputation for working diligently to understand the unique goals and needs of its customers while adhering to strict order of business and taking budgets to heart.
Disappointment isn’t an option for this company, which values service not only to customers but also community. Parrish Construction Group stands by a mission to provide premier construction services in Georgia by identifying, understanding and exceeding expectations, upholding corporate values and sustaining founding principles of integrity, safety and stewardship.
