“In the casino business, everything changes rapidly and all the products are specialty items,” says Falvey. “We’re able to adapt to the ongoing changes throughout the project, and no matter what, deliver the project on time.” Remaining flexible throughout the project, T.N. Ward is able to cater to special needs and redesigns, and has the ability to self-perform some of the carpentry, concrete, demolition and interior fit-out work.

In 2013, T.N. Ward completed one of the largest casinos on the East Coast, the Maryland Live! Casino, outside of Baltimore. The $500-million multi-use complex is a million and a half square feet with a 350,000-square-foot casino and was built in just 12 months. “It was a remarkable timeframe for completion,” says Falvey. “Plus, the project was outside of Atlantic City, in an area where no casino had ever been built before. We had to educate the workforce and the subcontractors on what it takes to build one.”

The Maryland Live! project was a tremendous success and contributes to the overall success of T.N. Ward. “We monitor our success in repeat business and new clients by referral,” notes Falvey. “If we’re not picking up new clients and working with ones we already have, then we’re not doing a good job.” However, the team is doing its job, as T.N. Ward is regularly called upon by longtime clients, such as Harrah’s Entertainment.

In addition to casino building, T.N. Ward completes educational institutions, health care facilities, hotels, multifamily housing, office complexes, retail outlets, parking garages, restaurants, bars and industrial buildings. The company works primarily in the private sector, however, also completes public sector work.

Another project completed in 2013 was a high-tech, 180,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that produces cutting-edge energy systems. “It was a one of a kind project,” says Falvey. “There were many memorable moments on the project. We ran the job 24/7 in order to meet the schedule, which was less than six months.”
