Tedesco Pacific Construction Inc.
The husband and wife team of Greg and Lora Tedesco, co-founders of namesake company Tedesco Pacific Construction Inc. (Tedesco), founded a single-source concrete placement construction company specializing in super flat floors for commercial, industrial and government projects. For 30 years, the Tedesco team has continued to grow and prosper.
The company has experienced significant growth since the beginning, in 1984, when there was one employee. Today, post-recession, Tedesco has maintained a core workforce of 75 employees, and that number is growing. Together, Greg and Lora, president and secretary and treasurer, respectively, have built a business with award-winning workmanship and a reputation for on-time delivery.
Tedesco owns and operates its equipment and works on small to large projects in northern Nevada and central and northern California from its location in Sparks, Nev. On all its projects, no matter the location, Tedesco stands behind its work 100 percent.
Better than the rest
Tedesco is set apart from its competitors thanks to its ability to meet the specs for super flat floors, as well as meeting the fast-paced schedule of large-scale, high-profile commercial projects. The professional team has a reputation for executing with a high level of quality and attention to detail; experienced employees are well-trained and safety conscious.
Public and private sector work is sought out by Tedesco, and the company has worked on myriad projects for federal, state and municipal governments, as well as for the military, universities and privately owned companies.
Over the years, Tedesco has won multiple awards, including the industry gold standard, the Golden Trowel Award. Although the capabilities of Tedesco favor large-scale projects, smaller local contractors also rely on Tedesco in addition to well-known national general contractors.
Along with a skilled workforce, Tedesco has a Dipstick 2272, the most accurate means of flatness testing available, as well as two bulk-placement Somero laser screeds. The company’s arsenal of state-of-the-art, high-tech finishing tools and power finishing equipment includes a fleet of ride on and power trowels, as well as lesser known equipment for the efficient placement of large super flat floors.
A flat foundation
Tedesco is an F-Number finishing contractor as certified by FACE Company, which has repeatedly awarded Tedesco the title of having created the flattest and most level floors in the Somero Laser Screed category. Furthermore, its super flat floors on the Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, Nev., won both a Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) Achievement award and an international ACI construction award.
Other large-scale projects completed by Tedesco include a distribution center for Amazon, a massive facility for high-profile Apple, as well as a huge production and distribution plant for a Sutter Homes Winery.
In Patterson, Calif., as farm land is being developed, several new distribution centers will be constructed using the expertise of Tedesco. Closer to home, in McCarran, Nev., the Tahoe Regional Industrial Center – the largest industrial park in the nation – is currently drawing companies and hiring contractors who rely on Tedesco to lay the foundation of brand new facilities.
Tedesco works on many industrial/manufacturing facilities, warehouse buildings and larger concrete tilt-up buildings. However, the team also completes smaller commercial jobs on a regular basis and is well-versed in gas stations, retail outlets and restaurants.
A future built on the past
Greg was inspired to start his own business in the construction industry in part due to his family’s lineage in the construction industry. He explains that his grandfather had a Ready-Mix company, and was a supplier to concrete contractors. Therefore, Greg began by starting his own placement company while he was just in his 20s. When he met Lora in 1984, the two of them began Tedesco.
Acknowledging the importance in today’s world, the company stays up-to-date on industry advancements through its many affiliations. Tedesco is an active member of: American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA), Scaffold Industry Association (SIA), Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), The Builder Association of Northern Nevada (TBANN) and Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA).
The company gets the most pride out of a job well done, and it’s longtime, loyal employees facilitate Tedesco’s high-quality workmanship. While most employees have been with the company for over a decade, and several for 25-plus years, employee tenure speaks to Tedesco’s reputation. It is unusual longevity for the construction industry, but Tedesco Pacific Construction Inc. is not your average company – it’s an industry leader in super flat floors across the region.
