Tech-24 Construction LLC, a sister company to Tech-24 Food Service Technologies, was created to offer clients a “total service solution.” The total-package general contracting/remodeling department has operated since 1998 as a natural extension of the services provided by its sibling company, which was already home to a team of master plumbers, electricians and HVAC mechanics servicing and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, exhaust systems, water heaters and facility health department issues. The remodel, self-performed by Tech-24 Construction’s own tradesmen, involved dramatic changes to the bar, dining room, vestibules and restrooms. This remodeling job involved extensive millwork and custom built-ins. The firm has also recently completed construction on Wiedmaier’s Wildwood Kitchen, a new restaurant in Bethesda, Md. Tech-24 Construction was the general contractor and kitchen equipment supplier and installers for the $1.3 million project.

For Victor Bonomi – president, managing partner and senior director of project management at Tech-24 Construction – the firm’s work for Wiedmaier (which includes construction services for all of his restaurants) is not just professional; it’s also personal. Bonomi explains, “I worked as a trained chef for 10 years. I went to culinary school, and I trained under Robert Wiedmaier, who has been a friend and mentor to me. Now I build his restaurants.”

As the general contractor for all of the Noodles and Company remodels, Tech-24 Construction performed all trade work with its in-house staff.

These same feats are being performed for other well-known chains, such as Starbucks, Pret A Manger and PotBelly’s to name a few. “Our fast-tracked remodeling ability is second to none,” explains Bonomi. “Our four large warehouses throughout Virginia allow us to stock and store materials before we start the project. This, in turn, allows us to seamlessly fly though the project without material procurement issues. Once we start with a client we stock all of their standard materials, including tile, grouts, paint, flooring and mechanical parts, etc., which keeps us the first choice for maintenance and refreshing.”

Another noteworthy client, Maggie Austin Cake of Alexandria, Va., called for Tech-24 Construction to restore and renovate a 120-year-old building transforming it into a complete baking facility and showcase for the cake builders artistic creations, while still preserving the structure’s historic qualities. Tech-24 Construction also recently served as the general contractor for a project involving kitchen install and custom carpentry work for Medi. This up-and-coming new chain, which is a Mediterranean quick-serve eatery, is a branch concept developed by Delia’s Restaurants and GrizForm Design Architects. Among the design features to be found in Medi locations are wooden block pulleys that once served as props for the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” and a large blue front door of the type commonly found in the Mediterranean that is thought to ward off evil spirits.
