Delta Fabrication & Machine Inc. (Delta) was established in 1989 in Daingerfield, Texas. Delta specializes in a broad range of heavy industrial machine work and fabrication services and has the equipment, skill and experience to perform large and small scale projects.

Gerald Williams, president of Delta, had worked for the company under a previous owner for over a decade before purchasing the business. Today the company employs 145 people with two office locations in Texas. Delta headquarters remains in Daingerfield, while the company embodies a second office in Lone Star and maintains a full-time field crew in the Dallas Metroplex.

The Daingerfield location site sits on seven acres, which includes the company’s full-service shop. The 37,250-square foot fabrication and machining facility is fully equipped with welding machines, saws, presses, mills, grinders and more. “We generally employ between 100 and 130 millwrights, welders, electricians and concrete workers,” explains Williams.

Capabilities Lead to International Contracts

According to Williams, what sets Delta apart from other fabrication businesses in the market is a broad range of capabilities. “We’re unique in that we have both a full fabrication shop and a full machine/re-build shop,” he explains. The company’s diversity has attracted clients from all over the United States and Canada. “We’ve done work coast to coast,” Williams elaborates. “We’ve worked in Texas, Nevada, Wyoming, New Jersey, Kentucky,” and the list goes on.

Aside from manufacturing structural and mechanical elements, Delta performs onsite maintenance, shut-down work and electrical construction. Most of the work is self-performed by professionals within the company, though Delta boasts the qualified personnel required to serve as the general contractor for large scale construction projects as well. A large portion of Delta’s contracts are with businesses or contractors in the steel, power plant and wood industries.

Delta has built a portfolio of industrial projects throughout North America by serving clients large and small in a number of industries. The team’s success through efficiency, safety and quality has made repeat customers out of some big name companies.

Delta has performed several fabrication and installation projects for International Paper Company. Delta installed sorter equipment and rebuilt a kiln for the client at the corporation’s Washington, Ga., location. The business got another kiln upgrade in Sampit, S.C., and fabrication and installation of a new wood yard in Nacogdoches, Texas.

The company also performs work locally for Lone Star Steel Company, which is owned by U.S. Steel. The team at Delta has the experience and expertise to design, fabricate and install material handling equipment for various structural steel and pipe manufacturing operations. Other notable Delta clients include: Norit Americas, Nucor Steel and American Electric Power, as the team pursues projects from kiln construction to batch feeders and cooling beds.

Williams feels his company has remained relatively untouched by the economic downturn, despite industrial slumps linked to a slow period for new construction. He credits the company’s ability to provide a wide range of personalized services to clients. “We’ve overcome the challenges by being diversified,” he explains, “And we offer quality, fair prices to our customers.” He acknowledges that steel companies are slowing down and wood companies have cut spending. “The economy is not perfect, but hopefully it will come around,” he says. Fortunately, Delta has built up the breadth to absorb drops in certain industries through focusing on other areas where the business can benefit.

Delta provides competitive pricing by working with a network of reliable suppliers. Value in the supply chain is passed along to clients, and quality is more important than price in an end product. All materials and components are obtained and implemented to meet the standards of the engineers that Delta works closely with on industrial projects.

The Delta team anticipates steady growth for the company within the next few years, as Williams and his management team continue to build professional relationships with engineering firms specializing in the heavy industrial field. The word is spreading, and Delta has been offered referrals from industry giants like U.S. Steel and International Paper as well as a handful of local businesses with deep roots in Texas.

Delta offers customers quality, durable engineering as well as superior maintenance and service. Technicians are available around the clock for emergencies and power outages. The staff is experienced, highly trained and makes customer needs and safety a priority on any project or service call. Delta Fabrication & Machine Inc. maintains state-of-the-art equipment, expansive training and decades of experience to sustain success.
