Alpha Construction Co. Inc. is a highly experienced general contractor presently specializing in building quality multi-family housing consisting of affordable senior, family, special-needs, veteran and assisted-living developments as well as conventional and mixed-use apartments and condominiums. In addition to its general contracting capabilities, Alpha is prepared to deliver experienced preconstruction services, which include cost estimating, budget development, value engineering, constructability review and project management. Preliminary project analysis and cost control are the twin engines driving buildings that arrive on time and on budget. The company’s core strategy is a synthesis of its project planning and team management philosophy.

Alpha’s senior leadership/ownership team brings more than 100 years of combined experience to the company. Irv has been a general contractor since 1957 and in addition to maintaining an overview of all activities, he is in charge of the marketing program, including the furnishing of preconstruction services. Jerry Hart, a 1961 graduate architect and its senior vice president, joined the company in 1971 and is responsible for overseeing its contractual, administrative and risk management activities. Louis Laxineta, vice president, has been with Alpha since 1989 and supervises the project management and field operations.

Alpha’s full-time staff of approximately 35 consists of long-term, able and dedicated professionals who are both qualified and experienced in construction, construction management, engineering and architecture. The contributions and expertise of this staff are indispensable, and have a lot to do with the successful completion of Alpha’s projects.

Throughout its history, Alpha Construction has built a solid reputation — a credit to the company’s values. “Our philosophy is to look at the members of an owner’s project team, the architect, engineers and project manager as partners, not opponents,” says Irv. “This has resulted in numerous faithful clients continuing to give us repeat business over the years.”
