As a leading solar power provider, Titan Solar Construction has been providing one-stop shop services to customers in the residential and commercial sectors since 2006. Headquartered in Van Nuys, California, the company maintains satellite offices in Bakersfield, Ontario and Pleasant Hill. In addition to solar-powered systems, Titan Solar provides a wide array of energy savings solutions such as cool roof, LED light retrofits and energy efficient HVAC installations which reduce utility costs by as much as 60 percent.
Founded by Ofir Hamoif, Titan Solar was born out of the need to provide customers with affordable and diversified options to go solar. With a residential market concentrated in the Southern California region, Titan Solar also serves small commercial clients for whom the company performs battery assessment, including an entire system of battery, solar and LED.
An expanding market
Titan Solar works with every client from the germination of an idea to the completion of each project. Beginning with an energy audit on the client’s home, the company also utilizes its relationships with numerous financial institutions to incorporate financing into the project. “We find out what the best option is for the customer rather than only choosing one of the options that we have to offer,” says Omar Melo, director of corporate strategy and development. “After analyzing their home and future plans we only promote what is absolutely in their best interest.”
While its primary market is heavily focused in Southern California, Titan Solar continues to expand its geographical footprint with high-profile projects throughout the state. The company recently designed the PV Solar System component of the corporate headquarters, manufacturing, warehouse and parking structure development for Bobrick Washroom Equipment, a worldwide bathroom equipment manufacturer and distributor in North Hollywood. Titan Solar engineered, permitted and completed the installation of the 191-kilowatt solar PV system. The PV panels are installed on Baja carports on the upper level of a new, four-level parking structure.
On the residential side, Titan Solar built and installed a solar electric PV system including SolarWorld 370 mono panels, Enphase micro inverters and racks for the City of Victorville’s Senior Center. The company provided all design, engineering, installation permits and interconnection agreement approvals for the public project, which was completed in July 2015.
Through its residential work, Titan Solar has gained numerous commercial jobs such as ice rinks and hospitality facilities.
“Our residential customers are so happy with our work that it often leads to commercial work in that area,” says Hamoif. “We have about five to 10 commercial jobs that we are currently working on that came from a residential customer reference.”
With approximately 175 full-time employees, Titan Solar maintains the ability to self-perform a majority of its own work. While the company provides everything from engineering to installation, Titan Solar will occasionally work with subcontractors if a project involves a specialty trade. “Sometimes, in addition to solar technology installation, a client will also build an addition to the home as well, such as a patio,” says Franco. “Other than that we rarely use subcontractors.” Titan Solar also prides itself in using American-made products exclusively. “We consistently use the highest-quality equipment while keeping costs to a minimum,” says Melo.
A growing company
The team of highly skilled employees at Titan Solar is what gives Franco the biggest sense of pride about the company. A family-oriented environment is present throughout all of the company’s locations and associates are encouraged to express their own ideas. “The energy and camaraderie of this company is very high,” Hamoif explains. “This is an environment that encourages growth and development of all employees. There is a strong sense of the desire to give back and help people within and outside of the organization. That is very important to us a
nd that is driven by the leadership and owners of the company.”
Exponential growth is in the near future for Titan Solar. The company is on its way to becoming a completely vertically integrated organization with the addition of in-house financing. “We plan to soon have a strong presence in northern California and eventually become a nationwide company,” says Melo.
With a quality product and excellent customer service rating, the future is bright for Titan Solar, with lobbyists pushing to extend tax credits for homeowners who use solar energy, Titan Solar is creating awareness and education for solar energy. “Now is the perfect time for home and business owners to take advantage of the incentives for using solar energy,” says Hamoif. “We’re not pushing one product or service; everything we do is customized for each client.”
While solar energy continues to create incentives for customers, Titan Solar Construction will remain at the forefront of the industry.
