Since 1979, Re-Bath LLC (Re-Bath) has remodeled millions of bathrooms worldwide while keeping the process affordable and easy. While the Arizona-based remodeler is fully licensed, insured and part of respected national brands, the company remains locally owned-and -operated. Today, Re-Bath operates 200 franchise locations worldwide and has added an extensive line up of kitchen remodel systems, but the company is a result of humble beginnings.

Shortly after college, Re-Bath founders Highly Falkner and Kurt Kittleson began investigating a bathtub liner product from a northeastern manufacturer. After some research, the pair developed a new concept and dubbed it American Bathtub Liners (ABL). In 1979, with a loan from Falkner and Kittleson’s parents and a leased thermoforming machine from Shamrock Plastics, ABL set up an office in the bedroom of Falkner’s home and began a part-time operation.

A year later, the partners relocated the office to the Shamrock Plastics building and began to devote their full attention to ABL. Shortly after the move, the building burned down and ABL relocated to a 1,800-square-foot location in Tempe Ariz.

In 1982, ABL was granted the registered trademark for Ambath and the product became the first bathtub liner tested and approved by the Uniform Plumbing Code. With just 16 employees Falkner and Kittleson developed the Re-Bath franchise concept.

The company quickly entered the hospitality market, earning and maintaining national contracts with big-name clients such as Best Western, Quality Inn and the Holiday Inn. In 1991, Re-Bath was established as a separate corporation for the sole purpose of franchising. The company was licensed by ABL to use the Re-Bath concept.

Today, Re-Bath has expanded its products and services from just tubs and walls to the entire bathroom, from the bath tub to the shower base or walk-in tub, to new flowing, vanities and sinks.
