Long Energy is prepared to meet energy needs for the region’s contractors, regardless of the size of the project. “We delivered the diesel for the new Walmart and Target going up in the area,” says Long Jr. Using cellular monitoring technology provided by Wesroc, the team receives current updates on tank fuel levels and automatically delivers to prevent run outs, and fill up only when customers need or request delivery.

The company is proud to have multiple ongoing contracts with many smaller projects, and Long Energy also provided fuel for the construction of an upstate New York prefabricated ship manufacturer. “We like to build relationships with contractors,” Long Jr. explains. “We get tied in with them.”

Both winter 2011 and 2012 were mild, and Long Energy saw a decline in residential heating oil and service call sales. However, the mild weather allowed local construction companies to perform far more outdoor work than in past years. “Some people it hurts, some people it helps,” Long Jr. adds. The unusual weather, however, did not manage to disrupt the company’s revenue, which saw an increase in propane and diesel fuel.

“Down the road we plan on just doing more of what we already do,” says Long Jr., discussing the company’s plans for growth. “We are continually gaining customers and want to service more construction sites, deliver more fuel and get more involved with contractors, businesses and homeowners.”
