DriTac Flooring Products LLC

Floor adhesives and installation products made in the USA

DriTac Flooring Products LLC (DriTac) has been producing innovative floor installation solutions since 1956, when the company first opened its doors in New York City. For more than 30 years, the business grew steadily, attracting a growing market of floor installation contractors throughout the country.

Yale and Myrna Block, now president and executive vice president, respectively, purchased the business in 1990 and have continued to operate the business as a strong supply partner for national distributors, retailers, contractors and installers looking for a leading edge in effective and eco-friendly adhesives and installation products.

Today, the company offers a range of flooring installation solutions, including adhesives, concrete sealers and accessory products for hardwood, bamboo, cork, rubber and resilient floor coverings. After more than 50 years in business, DriTac still puts customers first, providing product systems that surpass customer expectations, as well as personalized service, unmatched by other large-scale manufacturers. On top of that, the business has managed to create products that exceed green requirements of the industry, while still maintaining high standards of quality.

DriTac Flooring Products LLCPremium grade products

“We pride ourselves on our customer service, premium grade and eco-friendly adhesive products,” explains Yale.

“We have some of the finest products in the industry in terms of offering problem solving installation adhesives, such as moisture mitigation solutions, which makes us very proud,” Myrna adds. “Our people are really knowledgeable and we are well-known in the industry for our friendly and responsive customer service. We have a line of flooring adhesives that contain rapidly renewable and sustainable raw materials and all of our products meet the Clean Air Act. We are very focused on being green and offer a family of products that tout CRI certification, zero VOCs and zero solvents.”

The Golden Bullet makes the top of the list as one of DriTac’s premium-grade products. The team released this CRI-certified, zero solvent, zero VOC, four-in-one system in mid-2014. The adhesive quickly attracted an outstanding amount of interest.

“This is one of the products we showcased at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo [Greenbuild],” explains Chuck Hall, vice president of sales for DriTac. “This urethane-based product offers an adhesive bond with moisture control, sound control and crack suppressant all in one pail. Our customers can just use the required trowel, apply the adhesive to the sub floor and install the wood flooring immediately. This saves major time and labor by turning a two-day process into one. The Golden Bullet offers unlimited concrete sub floor moisture control with no testing required and a lifetime warranty.”

Another of the company’s leading products is Eco-DriSeal, which solves several common installation issues. “One of the major problems in our industry is old adhesive residue from prior flooring installations,” Chuck continues. “One example would be a contractor at a job-site, taking up floors and replacing them. If they were glued down with adhesive, installers would be required to remove all presence of existing adhesive residue typically via mechanical means after they remove the former surface.”

With DriTac’s Eco-DriSeal product, any adhesive residue can be merely scraped flat. “You coat the floor by rolling the product on like paint, and it will create a barrier between the old residues that will not counteract with the new adhesive,” Chuck continues. “The second major purpose of this product is to control moisture emissions from concrete that affect the longevity of the floor. The product is fast-drying and requires no mixing.”

Chuck explains that a contractor can apply Eco-DriSeal by rolling it on to the floor with one coat and in two to three hours install the new floor. “You can add a second coat for additional moisture control,” he details. “This is another of our green products with zero solvents and zero VOC.”

Another outstanding green product from the American-owned company is DriTac 7700 Easy Clean 4-In-1. “It was given that name because of its easy clean nature,” Chuck elaborates. “If the product gets on the surface of the wood, it can easily be removed from the surface without any harm to the finish of the flooring. This multi-faceted installation adhesive is friendly to the environment with no solvents and zero VOC. The product is CRI-certified by the green label plus program for indoor air quality. The system does the same four things as The Golden Bullet: sound control, moisture control, adhesive and crack protection.”

Premium projects

DriTac’s premium grade products have been utilized on many well-known and extensive high-rise projects nationwide through the years. The most trusted name in flooring adhesives was called upon to install roughly 300,000 square feet of bamboo flooring over cork underlayment at Battery Park Place in Battery Park, N.Y.C.

The project’s flooring contractor, VAL Floors, chose DriTac 7500 Eco-Urethane, firmly cementing the successful use of green, eco-friendly products throughout the flooring system at the high-end, luxury condominium complex.

Another high-end luxury condominium complex, the Austonian – located in Austin, Texas – also called on DriTac. DriTac 1001 All-in-One is the very first urethane-based 4-In-1 sound and moisture control wood flooring adhesive on the market. The company used the product to complete the successful installation of 200,000 square feet of engineered hardwood flooring. Using a 4-In-1 product, such as DriTac 1001 All-In-One or The Golden Bullet, allows installers to circumvent the need for an underlayment system, while producing the same high-level results.

Chicago-based Legacy Tower at Millennium Park, a 150,000-square-foot luxury high-rise condominium, selected DriTac’s eco-friendly flooring adhesives to successfully finish the job. General contractor Walsh Construction and flooring contractor Lyn-Den chose to utilize the combination of DriTac 9500 Ultra acrylic urethane wood flooring adhesive and DriTac 6200 pressure sensitive flooring adhesive to complete the installation.

Furthermore, DriTac 6200 is a versatile workhorse flooring adhesive that has been around since the mid-1950s and paved the way for DriTac. The one adhesive can install luxury vinyl tile/plank, engineered hardwood flooring, cork flooring and more.

“There is still a tremendous demand for this product due to its unique pressure sensitive characteristics,” Chuck details. “In fact, installers favor this adhesive in high-rise complexes, due to its long open time. Installers can spread an entire floor and then work back on top of the adhesive, dramatically increasing productivity for large jobs where precision and accommodating deadlines are critical.”

Continued growth and innovation

The company’s strong and growing product line has helped DriTac build a lasting positive rapport with contractors throughout the United States. According to Yale, customers like supporting a domestic company. The team manufactures adhesives and installation products in Clifton, New Jersey, with distribution partners spread across the country.

A thriving business keeps Myrna and Yale involved in day-to-day business. “Our cell phone numbers are on our business cards, so our customers have access to us,” Myrna elaborates. “Our products are high quality, so we don’t get that many phone calls. Still, we want to let our customers know we care. If there is a problem, call us. There aren’t many companies where customers have access to the owner’s cell phone. As an experienced business owner, we pride ourselves in responsive customer service and standing behind our products. We choose to consistently find ways to support the people who buy our products.”

With a large and growing contractor fan club, the business is doing extremely well. The team is in the process of a major plant expansion for the factory in Clifton, which is expanding by 60 percent. With that, DriTac is hiring new people and creating good local jobs. “It is important to us to support our local economy,” mentions Yale.

The team continues to set DriTac apart from competitors through integrity, innovation, sustainability and quality that DriTac Flooring Products LLC can stand by.
