For more than a century, homeowners and businesses have counted on ARS/Rescue Rooter of Indiana (ARS) for exceptional air conditioning, heating, plumbing, sewer and drain services through a network of Indiana’s local Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) certified professionals. “Our operation dates back more than 100 years if you look at the different companies we’ve acquired that are now part of our family in Indianapolis,” shares Kerry Tidwell, general manager of ARS. “Our long history makes us credible and it means a lot to people. We’ve been here for 100 years and we’re going to be here for 100 more; we’re not going anywhere.”
Tidwell says a long-running history gives ARS a leg up in the competitive Indianapolis market. “There are a high number of HVAC companies per capita in Indianapolis, so the market is highly saturated,” he continues. Tidwell joined the ARS team in 2009, stepping into a managerial role.
ARS currently employs 120 professionals in Indiana, serving the expanse of the Indianapolis metro area. “We hold our employees to very high standards,” explains Tidwell. “We run background checks and perform drug testing on all of our employees and we take it very seriously.”
On-the-go emergency service
The ARS team delivers a full scope of services for the home. “We offer heating, cooling and plumbing but we also handle sewer work and we have in-house insulation service,” details Tidwell. But one of the aspects ARS has become known for over the years is fast, reliable, 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week emergency service. “No matter what your heating, cooling, plumbing emergency or problem is – or when it occurs – you can get the help you need with just one call, when you need it most,” adds Tidwell.
Nights, weekends – even holidays – ARS’ customer service representatives can schedule an appointment and immediately dispatch one of the company’s emergency experts to a customer’s home or business. The company’s 24-hour professionals take care of emergency situations with furnaces, air conditioners, water lines, sewer line stoppages, sump pumps, ejector pumps, burst washing machine hoses, kitchen and bathroom drain clogs, broken water heaters, overflowing toilets and much more.
Extensive in-house offerings
“Our niche is in mechanical contracting and plumbing, primarily in the residential market,” shares Tidwell. “We do very little new construction and we’re working about 90 percent on the residential side, but our plumbing division does a considerable amount of commercial work on the drain and sewer side.”
But most importantly, ARS offers in-house service. “Generally, we do not subcontract anything; we do 99 percent of all work in-house with our own equipment,” shares Tidwell.
ARS is currently underway on a sizable project for the Veterans Association Charity. “We’re building homes and partnering with Home Depot,” reveals Tidwell. “ARS is delivering complete HVAC systems for the project.” Also on a large scale, ARS works with Simon Properties and Duke Realty within Indianapolis.
ARS knows there’s more than meets the eye to assure the quality of any heating and cooling system. The company offers indoor air quality services in addition to full HVAC and plumbing. From air duct services to indoor air cleaning, thermostat regulation and repairing or installing UV light cleaners to whole house dehumidifiers or humidifiers – ARS will not only get systems running, the company gets them running as efficiently as possible.
Staying well connected
As a member of the Indiana PHCC, Tidwell says ARS keeps pace with industry trends and happenings. “Being a PHCC member opens up a conversation and it brings a level of sophistication to an industry that is often viewed as being less than that,” he says. “Of course some of our competitors are also a part of the same association, but PHCC helps foster a nature of respect and collaboration for the better of the industry.”
ARS is also interested in bettering its community as a 100-year-old member. “We get involved in community events and fundraisers, from breast cancer awareness walks to youth league programs,” shares Tidwell. “It’s our responsibility and duty to do so after this community has supported us for more than a century.”
Woven into the community with reliable service that’s ready to respond at a moment’s notice, ARS/Rescue Rooter of Indiana continues a 100-yearlong tradition of quality heating, cooling, plumbing, insulation and sewer service.
