Ace Glass Construction Corp.
For over 27 years, Ace Glass Construction Corp. (Ace Glass) experienced staff has focused on the highest quality glass manufacturing, fabrication, glazing, supplies and installations of glass and aluminum products. “We’re the largest glass company in the state,” shares Courtney Little, second-generation owner and president of Ace Glass. “We’ve come this far by never cutting corners to make a buck. Architects and contractors want to work with us because they know if we’re offering a solution, they can trust it’s the best one for the job.”
Ace Glass was founded in January 1986 by Courtney’s father, Newton Little and his wife, Linda. “My parents set the standard for quality work early on,” explains Courtney. “From a $10 job to a $10 million project, all the way up and down the line, we’re known for our quality. We employ some of the most experienced supervisors and glazers in the state.”
Ace Glass currently employs about 100 industry professionals from its home in Little Rock, Ark., and an additional location in Lowell, Ark. “We’re primarily in central and northwest Arkansas because those are the two largest economic centers in the state,” details Courtney. “There are a lot of other large companies centered here and plenty of competition, but we get other glass companies calling us to do work.”
“It’s similar to a barber competing with other barbers,” continues Courtney. “They might advertise ‘we fix bad haircuts’; well we fix bad glass jobs.” Not only is Ace Glass the largest in the state, but according to Courtney, one of the most respected.
A Solid Reputation
“We’re known for multimillion dollar glazing jobs and projects that require a lot of manpower and coordination,” explains Courtney. “Not many people in this state can perform projects like we can; usually companies have to come in from out of state.”
Ace Glass is also a top level Anderson window dealer. “We’re what you call a COE dealer, so not only do we carry a full line of products, we are also certified to do service and repair work on Anderson’s windows. I don’t think there’s anyone else in the state doing the same.”
Aside from a full line of Anderson products, Ace Glass manufactures its own panel systems. “We’re a diverse company and we pride ourselves in that and the quality standard we maintain,” notes Courtney. “When contractors work with us it’s easy because if we suggest a change they’re confident that were being honest and just trying to be more effective on the job.”
Top Quality Products and Installations
Ace Glass has delivered ideal glass solutions throughout Arkansas, from the University of Arkansas (UA) to a children’s hospital and just about everything in between. “About two years ago we finished the southern wing of the Little Rock Children’s Hospital,” reveals Courtney. “We performed all of the glass work from panels to sun shades.”
“We’ve also worked with Southwest Power Pool, a company that allocates the local energy supply,” continues Courtney. “We delivered the complete building envelope, from ACM composite panels made of an aluminum material to sun shades, but the most interesting project we’ve been involved in is currently at UA.”
At UA’s Ball Walker Hall School of Architecture, Ace Glass is renovating the structure with a custom-designed steel curtain wall system. “We’re installing close to 1,000 glass inserts on the wall to provide shading,” shares Courtney. “It’s shaping up to be quite an impressive project. It will be an award-winning job and nationally know due to the sheer size and complexity.”
Courtney admits the size and scope of the UA job has caused some logistical challenges. “Coordination is difficult because we’re working with another company that’s doing the framing of our glass and then we’re going back and sealing,” he explains. “Scheduling is also a frustration because it’s in such a compact area in the dead center of campus surrounded by other buildings. We’re used to having space to lay out material in parking lots, but we didn’t have this luxury at UA. Instead, we’ve utilized a remote storage location with specific traffic controls to get the glass in.”
Despite a tight site and logistical issues, Ace Glass has upheld the same quality standard the company has been known for over the last 27 years. “We’re the ones bringing new products to the market; we’re very much innovators in our industry, but quality always comes before quantity,” adds Courtney. “That’s why we self perform nearly everything. If there’s something we can’t do, we’ll learn how to do it in-house.” For nearly three decades, Ace Glass Construction Corp. has been leading the local industry with a trusted reputation and first-class quality products.
