Beaver Pipeline Construction LLC

Supporting big industry while uniting safety and quality

Over the last century, pipelines have become a central IV that keep daily activities and industries running across the U.S. Delivering crude oil, natural gas and refined petroleum products, pipelines are an integral part of America’s economy.

In recent years, Texas has become a hotbed for pipeline expansion thanks to increased demand caused by rapid development of refineries and expansion of natural gas production in the Barnett Shale Formation and the development of the Eagle Ford Shale in the southern portion of the state. Beaver Pipeline Construction LLC (BPC) is stepping in to support the major industry development.

BPC has evolved since 2006, specializing in general contracting services that meet the needs of the viable pipeline industry. Since May 2006, BPC has acquired experience in many aspects of pipeline construction and maintenance, utility construction, earthwork and site fabrication in an effort to support independent oil and gas companies.

One-stop shop for independent companies

“My partner, Chad Heinsohn, and I came together in 2006 after working for many years as pipeline welders,” recalls Chris Clark, president of BPC and industry veteran of 18 years. “Our goal is to service some of the smaller, independent gas companies in the area, not that we don’t do work for larger companies, but we’ve carved out a niche focusing on the smaller ones and offering the same quality service as national players would expect.”

Based in Madisonville, Texas, BPC employs 110 professionals working throughout Texas and even into Ohio, Indiana and Mississippi. “Our home base is in Madisonville, but we’ll set up satellite locations and go out of state for the right job,” shares Clark. “We go out of state pretty regularly and we’ll tackle just about anything. If there’s a small oil company that needs something specific and we have a chance to bid on it, we’ll go for it.”

BCP has set itself apart from a crowded industry by offering a one-stop shop. “We don’t sub out a lot of work,” explains Clark. “It makes us more flexible and responsive because we’re not waiting on someone else to do directional drilling or trucking.”

Diversified pipeline service

The company covers a broad scope of pipeline construction services from basic general contracting to asset verification and inspection, right of way identification to pipeline maintenance, station fabrication, earth work and emergency response to trucking, underground utilities and site preparation. “We also cover hydrostatic pipeline testing and environmental response,” adds Clark.

BPC’s range of service has attracted clients throughout Texas and beyond. “We recently built the Trinity-River Plant that compresses $3 MCF of gas a day in Midway, Texas,” notes Clark. “However, our biggest project to date was in Beaumont, Texas. We built the largest butane injection facility in North America for Sunoco Logistics. It was a 9-monthlong job and it’s one of the projects I’m most proud of.”

And there’s more work coming down the pipeline for BPC. “We’re excited about further drilling in Caldwell County, which is just west of us,” shares Clark. “This new activity will open more doors and opportunities within the same kind of work we’re doing now.”

With so much economic activity in the region, Clark admits BPC is often faced with the challenge of finding qualified labor. “The competition in this area for labor is intense, so finding adequate people that know what they’re doing is a battle sometimes,” he remarks. But BPC’s industry-leading safety record continues to attract employees and repeat business.

“Safety doesn’t occur by chance,” says Clark. “It is the result of careful attention to all company operations by those who are directly and indirectly involved. Employees at all levels must work diligently to execute the company’s policy of maintaining safety and occupational health. Regard for the safety of the general public, our own employees and the employees of our subcontractors, is a supreme responsibility of all levels of BPC. We intend to prevent all accidental injuries, property damage, fire damage and occupational illness. Accidents, even minor ones, cause pain, both physical and mental. Prevention of injury and illness is a goal well worth achieving.”

Second-to-none safety standards and quality service have equaled record growth for BPC over the last eight years. “I judge our success by the companies that call us back time and time again,” expresses Clark. “We have the new equipment that lets us stay ahead of the game and the people to carry it out. We’re on track for more growth and expansion down the line.” After just eight years in business, Beaver Pipeline Construction LLC has made a name for itself in a big, booming industry.
